Hi, I am using Opera 12.18 and Windows XP, sp3 and it works fine. Opera currently supports Windows XP Service Pack 3 only. Thats the newest major release of that OS. Opera does not officially support older versions of XP. That said, no, you are not safe. My wife is like you. She has an old PC with XP SP3, that I built many years ago.
